Medicine Career Talk

Today Year 6 were joined by Dr Upadhya for a careers talk about working in medicine. She talked about the route into a career in medicine and the kind of subjects you need to study. Mrs Upadhya has been both a GP and a psychiatrist during her career. As a psychiatrist she has been trained to deal with people with a range  of issues and she told us some interesting stories about how she helps them. When she was a GP she learnt to analyse the patients that came to see her and she showed us some of the equipment that she uses every day. It was an extremely intriguing talk and it has inspired us to consider a career in the medical field one day. Many thanks to Dr Upadhya for taking the time to visit us.
