At Glendower Preparatory School we take our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain very seriously. We ensure that the fundamental British Values of mutual respect, understanding and tolerance for those with different cultures, faiths or beliefs; democracy, rule of law and respect for self and others are introduced, discussed and lived out through our ethos which underpins the work of the school.
While we continue to look for ways to develop and extend our girls’ understanding of British Values across the curriculum, subjects such as PSHEE, RE and Current Affairs are particularly relevant in helping us prepare our girls to become fully immersed in modern British society. The girls embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application in their own lives. The school strives to provide opportunities such as sporting events, assemblies, trips (including residential), speaker visits and diverse celebrations to strengthen their understanding of these fundamental British Values. We feel confident that we give our girls the foundations for living a life of tolerance, understanding and the enthusiasm to celebrate diversity.
