Be Resilient!

2018-11-19

This morning, Mrs Maher did an assembly about resilience. Resilience means to be able to recover quickly from difficulty.

We watched a video about Steven Bradbury who is an Australian ice-skater. He tried for 12 years before finally winning a gold medal in the Olympics. He said “I’m not going to take the medal for the 90 seconds of this race. I’m going to take it for the 12 years that led up to this 90 seconds.” I think this means that it is the lead up and everything he has done up until that moment, not just the moment itself that is important.

We should all try to be resilient, not just at Glendower, but all the time in life!
