School Council

Glendower Preparatory School Council was created so that girls could examine and discuss certain aspects of school life in a group and under the supervision of a teacher and to help prepare girls for adulthood through involvement in a democratic process. It is also intended to make an important contribution to raising standards in all aspects of school life. Girls are nominated and then elected to the School Council. Two girls from each Form, from Form 2 to Form 6, represent their peers on the School Council.

The School Council has implemented a number of exciting initiatives, including a colouring poster competition to encourage people to conserve electricity around the school, to 'Keep A Cup A Week, Or Until It Leaks' - a campaign devised by the School Council to encourage pupils to reuse plastic cups.

The girls thoroughly enjoy being a member of the School Council and take pride in attending fortnightly meetings and having the opportunity to speak in School Assemblies.
