In line with the Data Protection Act (1998) we have the following policy for the management, storage and processing of personal data. This site "Glendower Prep School", accessed at "www.glendowerprep.org/" is provided by "Glendower" on behalf of its members by Swing Digital Ltd..
- Security of your Information
All information you enter is only accessed by those people you authorise and authorised staff of Glendower. We take great care over the security of this site and the information it holds. Appropriate technological measures (including encryption of the member database) have been taken to secure your personal data. As technology develops we will continue to assess what we can do to guarantee the safety of information held on this site.
- Restricted Use
Personal data is used for the key functions of this site, including a networking directory and discussions. It is also used by Glendower for its standard operations including mailing newsletters and ensuring membership dues have been paid. It will not be used in a way which is outside of the normal operations of this web site or Glendower without your consent - except where the Data Protection Act (1998) provides certain legal exemptions, such as in the pursuit of justice.
- Transfer & Storage in the USA
The information on this site is stored on a secure database in the United States of America. US legislation does not comply with the EU international transfer of personal data legislation, however we have procedures in place to ensure the security of your data and accepting the terms of this privacy policy constitutes consent for the transfer of information to the USA for storage and processing by Glendower or their contractors.
- Sale or Transfer of Information to Third Parties
Glendower will never sell the information you provide on this site or any other personal information they may hold about you. However if you give your consent in your personal profile then your information may be transferred to third parties who are deemed appropriate by the management and are in line with the aims of the society. This is likely to include without limitation the School and any legal entities created for fundraising purposes by the School or Glendower. Any organisation chosen for data transfer will not be for-profit unless contracted to do work specifically on behalf of a Glendower approved third party.
- Role of Swing Digital Ltd.
Swing Digital Ltd. are contracted by Glendower to provide this site and its associated services. To perform this duty certain authorised Swing Digital staff may have access to personal information. All access to information is logged and carefully restricted. Swing Digital Ltd. is in the business of providing effective community sites and recognises that the continued security of personal data is in its and its clients bests interests and thus all possible procedures and processes are in place to secure data.
- Accuracy of Information
The accuracy of information held on this site is your responsibility as this site allows you to make changes yourself.
- Email Communications
Your personal data will only be used for non-essential email communications if you opt into any such schemes.
- Cookies (Members)
We set a cookie on your computer so that you are allowed into the members' areas of the site and can be seamlessly identified by the system without continously logging in. It is not used for any other purpose.
- Cookies (All Visitors)
A cookie is set on the computer of all visitors. This is used to judge how many unique individuals view advertising on the site, it is not used for any other purpose. The information set is random and cannot be connected with any other information we may hold about you.
- The Information Padlock
In line with Information Commissioner recommendations we are using the 'information padlock' logo to signpost personal information issues on the site. You have a right of access to the information which we hold about you for which there is a statutory fee of £10.
